Folk Art Owl by Canadian Artist Viktor Tinkl
This past weekend in Creemore, Ontario (which has already been fodder for two PG Blogs!), we acquired this incredible piece of folk art by Canadian artist Viktor Tinkl.
The owl is made of Beer caps, wood, mason jar bottoms, metal found objects and a cat’s lower Jaw! It was kept outside, therefor the distressed look. We will keep it safe inside our log home in Feversham, Ontario.
It was first presented at an art Exhibit in Toronto at the Merton Gallery, Sept/Oct 1970. Here is the show’s cover for the catalog. Note #17, lower left hand corner!
